‘eYOU in the EU’ on the 14th of June 2016
IDnext and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs hosted ‘eYOU in the EU’ on the 14th of June 2016, an event attended by experts, policy-developers and decision-makers from member states of the European Union. The key speakers provided insight into the current digital market and the developments that have arisen to the market. Martijn Kaag, director of Connectis, was a key speaker.
Paul Timmers, Director Digital Society, Trust and Security at the European Commission, announced that already 7 European member states plan to notify their eID scheme by the end of 2016, an action which results in their scheme being officially recognized by other member states by September 2018.
Martijn Kaag, Director of Connectis, presented its aim to open up the online services of 81 Dutch municipalities for citizens and businesses of up to 31 European countries. Experts, policy-developers and decision-makers from European member states acknowledges the innovative and ambitious nature of the Connectis project.
