“Looking beyond the Dutch borders enables us to expand our reach”
Harm van Dommelen, information coordinator at the municipality of Waterland,
in the Western Dutch province of Noord-Holland
Facilitating digital facilities enable the municipality of Waterland to enable user friendly ways of working. From my job as information coordinator, this includes the responsibility to deliver the technical implementations of the online public services. The municipality of Waterland is a small municipality and therefore we realize we are a small fish in a large pond. Looking beyond the Dutch borders enables to expand our reach. Currently, European citizens have to use a Dutch eID (DigiD) to request services from our municipality. Becoming eIDAS proof means that we expect an increase in touristical products required from our municipality.
