“Most excited about enabling Belgium users to access our services”

The municipality of Waterland is one of the 81 Dutch municipalities opening up the online public services to European citizens and representatives of Dutch businesses. I am most excited about enabling Belgium users to access our services. The country is very nearby and there is no language barrier for the area of Flanders. However, it is truly a different country and we are looking forward to seeing what that would bring to our municipality.
Ultimately, our municipality is aiming to open up a total of five services using eIDAS. These services consist of, amongst others, parking permits and objections against the property valuation. We would like to give attention to the fact that these services become available to users in the possession of an European eID, but we have still to decide how to incorporate this. Time will tell.
