“We can use digital features to our advantage.”
Dirk Visser, e-government service officer at the municipality of Urk
Pro-active, innovative services that can be offered in a stable manner; this is what digitisation means for the municipality of Urk. Communicating with the citizens, businesses and organisations in our municipality are all truly human interactions. However, we can use the digital features to our advantage. This requires us to be organised in a smart way. What citizens can do themselves digitally should be handled as such. Within the field of IT, this means we need to have a flexible information and application infrastructure available to support the needs of our customers.
An example of this is the ‘Wedding App’. Citizens can select the date, wedding location, the civil servant and the way the room is set up. They instantly find out what the possibilities are and they can do so at the time that best fits their schedule. For services with most complex procedures such as permits, personal human contact is often preferred by customers.
