“We are ready for European users, but our infrastructure needs to become eIDAS proof first.”
Monique van der Stappen, advisor at ISHW (a IT collaboration between five municipalities in the region of ‘Hoeksche Waard’)
Collaborating with other municipalities has allowed us to save costs and work more efficiently. Increasing the number of products and services offered online is a central part of these improvements. It is experienced as being more convenient for our customers and our own staff. However, we still keep our other channels of communication available. We want to ensure that our customers can select the option that best fits their needs.
Allowing European users to access our services with their European eID would mean that we expect to see a rise in the amount of event (e.g. circuses) permits requested and services by the Civil Office. What we currently experience is that there is a web form available that could be used by foreign companies, yet they do not have the option to log in with their European eID. We are ready for European users, but our infrastructure needs to become eIDAS proof first.
