Improving our service levels as a municipality, this is what digitisation has essentially done for our municipality. It has changed the way my colleagues have viewed the way in which we offer our services. This included the option to offer public services beyond working hours. It follows as a logical next step to support even more customers in their needs for online access to our public services by participating in the eIDAS project.
Currently, European customers have to contact us per mail or they can authorize another individual to arrange the services of our municipality. I expect that digitally savvy European users will be the first users of our online public services using their European electronic identification methods. Especially a service like requesting subsidies could become a popular service to request online. Throughout the process of getting eIDAS ready I am looking forward to the experiences and solutions found by other participating municipalities.
