“eIDAS will increase the amount of re-location forms submitted.”
Leon Meulemeesters, policy advisor at the municipality of Gemert-Bakel, in the province of Noord-Brabant.
Digitisation is the at the core of my job as a policy advisor. The municipality of Gemert-Bakel is able to work more efficiently by incorporating a digital approach. This means, stepping away from physical, paper based, work processes. We would like to grant citizens from outside of the Netherlands access to our online public services. Participating as a front-runner in eIDAS allows us to do so. Currently, users that do not have possess a Dutch eID pay us a physical visit at the contact center. This will change. We expect that opening up our online public services to European citizens and business representatives will increase the amount of re-location forms submitted and passport requests. The right communication tools, such as an instruction video, help us guide users in the right direction.
